Trollius 'Superbus'

This flowering Trollius 'Superbus', with globe-shaped, buttercup-like flowers of lemon-yellow, held above fresh dark green deeply cut foliage, looks at its absolute best in late spring and early summer. It is a native UK plant, therefore extremely hardy, and is resistant to a great many pests and diseases. It is considered to be one of the easiest of garden plants to grow!

Known as the yellow globeflower, Trollius × cultorum 'Superbus' is ideal for a spot in an average-to-moist soil. This form is tolerant of a wide range of light conditions, from full sun to full shade, and everything in between. Its size makes it perfect for placing towards the front or mid-way in a border. Even better, the flowers last well when cut and placed in a vase for indoor decoration. Trollius 'Superbus' should be cut back in late autumn – it will come back in spring to delight you again, year after year. It is so highly regarded by experts, that the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) has given it the coveted Award of Garden Merit.
