Throughout June and July, Lupinus 'Towering Inferno' blazes brightly, its fiery coral red flowers putting on a rich, glowing spectacle. The dramatic lupin cultivar 'Towering Inferno' is one of the earlier to come into flower, meaning it can work particularly well with a slightly later companion such as Lupinus 'Gladiator' to give you an extended flowering period.  

To see your red 'Towering Inferno' lupins at their best, give them a sunny spot, in well-draining soil. Resist the temptation to add manure or compost to the planting hole, as lupins do best in poorer soils. Given too many nutrients, they’ll be all leaf no flower! Deadhead throughout the growing season to encourage more blooms. Straight after Lupinus 'Towering Inferno' has finished flowering, give the whole thing a light chop to above 15cm above ground, then leave to die back naturally over winter (lupins don’t like a hard, autumn cut back).
