Geranium 'Anne Thomson'

With Geranium 'Anne Thomson', your garden or patio will be festooned with low-slung, vibrant colour—for most of the summer. This is a neat, spreading perennial Geranium which, from June onwards, produces a continual display of bold, vibrant magenta purple flowers, each bloom having distinctive veining and a black centre. Bees and other pollinating insects will love the flowers, too. The heavily lobed and divided leaves of this Geranium start off almost yellow in spring, before they turn through light to mid-green. They make a wonderful contrast to the dramatic blooms.

Bred in the Orkney Islands some 20 years ago, Geranium 'Anne Thomson' has demonstrated a supreme tolerance of cold and windy conditions, making it ideal for coastal, high-altitude or otherwise exposed gardens. However, it is just at home in a sheltered town or cottage garden—it is one of the best all-rounders we could recommend. In fact, Geranium 'Anne Thomson' is considered such a good plant, the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) has awarded it a coveted Award of Garden Merit.
