Add class and elegance to your garden with the free-flowering Dahlia 'Salmon Runner'. Its beautifully formed flowers each measure approximately 11cm across, making them dinky by dahlia standards and a little easier to blend in a border than some of the bigger showstoppers. The shapely petals are a soft salmon-pink fading to white at the edges. Their colouring deepens with age, giving Dahlia 'Salmon Runner' the wonderfully quirky quality of having no two flowers ever quite the same.  

As with all dahlias, Dahlia 'Salmon Runner' requires protection from the damp chill of winter. Lift and store tubers in a greenhouse or shed, or if you live in a milder region or have light, well-draining soil, you can leave them in the ground covered by a thick layer of mulch. To ensure its graceful blooms remain upright, provide support early in the growing season. Utilise natural materials like hazel or birch branches, or opt for reusable metal supports.
