The semi-cactus flowers of Dahlia 'Bold Accent' have many rolled petals, each white at the base and lavender-pink towards the tips. The effect is like fireworks going off in the border, and adds a wonderfully tactile, feathery texture. We particularly love seeing dahlias like 'Bold Accent' paired with an open, single variety (think the luminous white blooms of Dahlia 'Bishop of Dover'), and upright flower spikes (staying with the white theme, perhaps Gladiolus 'White Prosperity'). Using three contrasting flower forms like this is a simple yet effective technique often used by designers and professionals.  

Flowering from July to November, Dahlia 'Bold Accent' is perfect for offering late season colour and interest when earlier perennials are beginning to tire. Deadhead regularly to keep the flowering vigour going as long as possible, though be careful not to confuse spent blooms with new buds. Finished blooms are pointed and squishy, while unopened buds are rounded, glossy and firm.
