Anemone 'LevanteĀ® Mix'
LevanteĀ® anemones, a new strain of Anemone coronaria, have been bred and raised in Italy, and they are recognised by many as the epitome of flower colour and horticultural perfection. Certainly, these mixed spring- and summer-flowering Italian LevanteĀ® anemones are long-lasting, with large, double blooms that will shimmer in patio pots, beds, borders, windowboxes and even hanging baskets. As if this isnāt enough reason to choose them, they also make fabulous cut flowers for vases and bouquets.
The colours available in this Anemone 'LevanteĀ® Mix' could include white ('Bianco'), shell pink ('Rosa'), fuchsia-pink ('Fucsia'), purple-blue ('Blu') and red. Your friends and neighbours will be astonished at all of these bright and intense colours!
Anemone 'LevanteĀ® Mix' will happily grow in sun or light shade, but the soil should be free-draining and not suffer waterlogging. Plant the bulbs/tubers, which look rather like dried-up pieces of bark, 5cm deep, are about 10cm apart. Plant them as soon as you receive them. If this is spring, the plants will be in flower in the summer. You can also plant these mixed Italian LevanteĀ® anemones as late as autumn, for flowering next year (but do give them some winter protection).
