Of any Hippeastrum variety, 'Pleasure' is probably the most difficult to describe in terms of its colour. Pink doesn’t do it justice. In reality, it’s a gorgeous deep pink, but it also has a lavender haze. And there are deep red vertical veins leading you in towards the centre of the bloom, where the colour becomes maroon-like. Oh, and when the light fades in the evening, the flowers of Amaryllis 'Pleasure' generally emit a more reddish hue. See? It’s difficult! However, it’s utterly stunning at the same time.  

Hippeastrum 'Pleasure' is different to, and complements, all other Hippeastrums. Why? Well, it has good, sturdy stems often reaching a height of 75cm. And the flowers have a somewhat different look about them: when fully open they are 15-20cm across, while the petals are wide and elongated; the length of each flower is 7.5-8cm. As the flowers of 'Pleasure'are not huge, they do not topple over, and they are considered more proportional to the container. Amaryllis 'Pleasure' is a true eye-catcher. With proper care and maintenance, these flowers can bring joy and delight for weeks.
